Ten Health Tips to Support your Immune System
Who enjoys being under the weather? I sure don’t, so supporting my immune system with OnGuard+ daily has kept me supported and resilient. If a threat does attack, I bounce back rather quickly. Here are some tips if you find yourself down and ready for relief.
Warm Cup of Tea or Apple Cider
One of my favorite cups of tea when I feel like something is trying to get me down is Throat Coat Tea. Try adding a drop of Lemon or Peppermint essential oil, or it comes with a Lemon-Echinacea option that is awesome if your throat is nagging at your for attention.
A big cuppa Apple Cider will warm you right up and boost your immunity with Cinnamon Bark and Clove.
Neck & Chest Massage
A natural remedy for the lungs, Frankincense is a perfect option for a chest massage. Rub on the back of your neck as well with a Cedarwood for calming properties. My favorite after fits of excessive hacking is Marjoram to the back over the lungs to aid in tension relief and relaxing. Breathe is going to be your lifesaving friends on your chest. Put a few drops in your hands, rub together and cup near your nose and mouth and inhale deeply. Rub excess over chest.
A steaming hot bowl of powerful, immune supporting oils will offer you a breath of fresh air, literally. You can do this same technique with a a coffee mug, just cup your hands over the mug and your nose/mouth as you inhale, don’t forget to close your eyes!
Shower melts are a great alternative to bath bombs if you are in a hurry or prefer showers. This DIY includes doTERRA Breathe®Respiratory Blend, to help give feelings of open airways and promote clear breathing. You can use different oils for different effects, but this one is especially helpful when experiencing the effects of seasonal threats, or to calm the senses before bed.

Epsom Salt Bath
Run the warmest bath water you can stand. My tip is to sit in the tub while the water runs, I can tolerate it hotter this way than just stepping into a steaming hot tub. Pour in 3-5 cups of Epsom Salts, I buy this brand in bulk and add whichever oils my body is calling for. I suggest 10-15 drops of essential oils in your bath. Lavender, Peppermint, Melaleuca, and Lemon are all great to combat the seasonal threats. Use them singly or mix together. Try this Lavender - Eucalyptus blend.
Diffusing is a powerful support to your whole body, and all those in our home. If under the weather, try 3 drops peppermint, 2 drops Eucalyptus, 2 drops Melaleuca, and 1 drop of Lemon. As an ongoing immune support to build up your family’s resiliency, diffuse OnGuard daily.
Vitamin C Smoothie
We are big smoothie drinkers. In my Vitamix, I throw in 2 oranges, 1 lemon, a squirt of honey, plus 2 drops of Lemon essential oil with ice and enough water to blend. (I add a banana sometimes)
Take a teaspoon of honey and add a drop of Lemon essential oil, take morning and night as needed. We like to add a drop of OnGuard too! If you can’t have honey, take a shot glass of water with a drop of Lemon & OnGuard added. You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly these oils offer aid. You can also make a roller bottle of OnGuard to roll on the outside of your throat until the threat passes. Don’t know how to make your own roller bottle? Watch this little clip.
At the first onset of being dragged down, we start bombing it. You can bomb it by filling your own capsule or taking a bomb shot. Either way works the same, the capsules are going to taste better.
